Yes, I'm Ready is a mid-1960s soul ballad by Barbara Mason that became a major hit thanks to its quiet intensity and emotional honesty. Built around a gentle groove with supporting backup vocals and Masons youthful but deeply felt vocal lead, Yes, I'm Ready captures the vulnerability of first love and hesitation with an unusual subtlety for the era. Its success helped define the softer and more introspective side of mid 60s soul and secured Mason a lasting place in classic r&b history. Barbara
